Defensive driving presentations & tuition

Driving Safety Advisor Ltd is run by Phil Windross, an Ex-Humberside Police Traffic Officer, who offers presentations and tuition days focused on defensive driving techniques and improving driver safety.

Courses are designed to benefit both companies with a fleet of vehicles and the staff who drive them. Defensive Driving packages can help companies who are looking to adhere to the ‘Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007’ and form a vital part of any corporate Health and Safety scheme.

Presentations can be tailored for specific needs but will generally last approximately 1 hour and will cover various aspects of defensive driving and driving safety.

In addition to this, in-car assessments which teach practical defensive driving techniques and advanced driving techniques on a one-to-one basis can be provided. Each session will take approximately 1 ½ hours.

Defensive Driving packages including both a presentation and in-car tuition can be provided from £300 per day.

The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 means that companies, and company owners/Directors, could now be liable for gross negligence in the event of a serious road traffic  accident. In order to protect your company and your staff, a Defensive Driving package can be designed for your company to give an appropriate level of driving training to ensure that your business complies with the law. Phil Windross has a vast amount of traffic safety knowledge and skill having worked for Humberside Police as a Traffic Officer for over 10 years. He has also worked in the Traffic Management Office for 2 years where he was instrumental in setting up the ‘Speed Seminars’ for Humberside Police. These seminars, which are still in place today, and are used as a diversionary scheme which allows drivers caught speeding to attend a ½ day seminar on road safety instead of receiving points on their license. Ultimately, this scheme has helped to educate drivers about road safety across East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
